Hari Internasional Wanita

Yesterday March 8th we celebrated International Women’s Day. All the women from the 3 established savings and loans groups met at Pantai Sene (Sene Beach in Kuta) for the first gathering since Bersahara started in September 2011.

The idea was to celebrate that Bersahara has become a reality and that we are all happy to be women. 

We remembered the missing women, we read a beautiful poem about women's qualities, we physically recreated the network of women that we aim to create, we wrote about the good things and the not so good things about being women...and we danced and had lots of fun! 

Here are some of the things they said they liked about being women:

"Giving birth to children", "taking care of family", "sharing with other women", "making business ideas become true", "unconditional love"...


And the not so easy things about being a woman:
"Husbands are always angry", "why are women always in charge of all the house work", "too much work in the house", "i am tired of cleaning, cooking and washing the clothes", "men are unfaithful",...
